Connect & Grow Counselling Services is a general counselling & support service specialising in Relationship & Conflict Resolution, Abuse Therapy and Family Therapy, on the Central Coast NSW.

How we help
Connect & Grow uses a combination of various therapies and techniques that are tailored for individual client needs. Some of these are explained further as follows:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Identifying and evaluating dysfunctional thoughts, feelings, beliefs & behaviours. We use a variety of flexible techniques, challenging and exploring alternative, positive and functional thoughts & feelings to improve emotional health. Teaching clients problem solving that can be employed in other areas of their lives.
Relationship Therapy
Relationships are the most important contributor to happiness. They are a central part of human existence. It requires skills in relating and communicating to create happiness in a relationship. We work on communication patterns, conflict resolution styles, gender differences, change, crisis, meeting other's needs, intimacy, commitment and explore the difficulties, and help build more rewarding happy relationships.
Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)
The study of excellence. It is understanding how the language of our mind creates the programs of our life. NLP has the tools that allows us to use the mind with optimum power. It contains skills and knowledge that allow us to identify how the programs were created, how to enhance the programs that work well, and how to change the ones that don't to be able to create the programming we desire.
Person Centered Therapy
Addressing specific issues and needs, then together making constructive changes in personality organisation, facilitating growth and achievement and solving personal difficulties using own resources. Gaining self-esteem, changing attitudes, becoming positive, less dependent, more self-expressive, self-directed and achieve own goals.
Gestalt Therapy
Using a variety of techniques to help people gain awareness, deal with unresolved feelings, overcome impasse, make informed choices and live more meaningful lives.
Narrative Therapy
Separating from problems and providing a way to refocus on construction / deconstruction of their life story. Then building a more satisfying richer life narrative. Also support in completing important life transitions. This may suit family, individuals, relationships and couples.

Sigal Howard,
BSc, DipHlthSc, DipCouns, CertNLP
Sigal Howard is the Principal therapist of Connect & Grow Counselling Services.
Sigal is a result-driven, solution oriented professional with over 10 years experience in all aspects of staff leadership, client liaison and operations management. Her initial career started as a medical scientist in a pathology laboratory. She was then promoted to the pathology laboratory manager at a local hospital on the central coast.
Her success came through recruiting, building, leading and inspiring teams to deliver best practice and high performance. She managed, monitored and reviewed the laboratory staff and worked collaboratively with hospital staff and Doctor practices on the central coast to maximise performance and quality of the services provided.
Sigal is fully dedicated to providing services and solutions that satisfy the clients’ goals. She has interpersonal ability in fostering and maintaining positive professional relationships and is highly client focused.
She is a Bachelor of Science and also holds Associate Diploma in Health Science.
After working 15 years in the health and medical field, Sigal redirected her career toward community and human services and is now supporting people in overcoming the various difficulties in life. She is passionate about seeing people reach their full potential. Sigal works side by side with her clients to ensure they find the path to success and stay on that path by setting targets, goals and long term vision with them.
Sigal has completed a Diploma in Counselling with Advanced Study Majors in Relationship & Conflict Resolution, Abuse Therapy and Family Therapy. She has also undertaken NLP Master Practitioner training. Sigal is a member of the Australian Counselling Association and now supports the Central Coast community in the area of counselling services
